Salman U. Syed is an international music industry professional with over 16 years of experience, currently serving as Manager, Projects & Marketing, International Brand Representative at Wacken Open Air (WOA Festival GmbH) in Germany. He is also the Head of Wacken Metal Battle, overseeing its global expansion across 100+ countries.
Originally from India, Salman began his journey in the Hard Rock & Heavy Metal scene by founding Bangalore Open Air, India’s longest-running and only dedicated Hard Rock & Heavy Metal festival, organized in partnership with Wacken. Since its inception in 2012, the festival has become a cultural landmark, hosting legendary acts such as Kreator, In Flames, Decapitated, and Watain.
At Wacken Open Air, Salman plays a vital role in developing international partnerships, managing global marketing campaigns, and ensuring brand consistency across Wacken’s international projects. He works closely with promoters, sponsors, and media networks to strengthen Wacken’s global presence while staying true to its underground roots.
Salman has been a part of the Wacken family for over 15 years, from attending as a fan in 2009 to becoming one of its key global representatives. He has been residing in Germany since 2022, and his career reflects his dedication to building bridges between international Music communities and creating opportunities for emerging bands worldwide. Known for his strategic vision, authenticity, and passion for music, Salman continues to shape the global landscape of Heavy Music culture while promoting unity through music.
