Neveen Kenawy

Neveen Kenawy is a visionary cultural leader, artistic director, and founder of She Arts Festival,Egypt’s first international festival dedicated to celebrating women in art. With extensive expertise in cultural programming, festival management, and artistic direction, she has become a driving force in shaping Egypt’s contemporary arts and cultural landscape. At the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Neveen leads several cultural initiatives, serving as Artistic Director and General Coordinator of the International Summer Festival as well as the Jazz Tales Festival. She is also Deputy Director of the Cairo International Jazz Festival, Artistic Consultant at Fabrica for music theatre, and a member of the Advisory Committee at Centre Rézodanse – Égypte.

Her career reflects a strong commitment to empowerment, exchange, and innovation. She has designed mentorship programs for young female artists, collaborated with international organizations, and represented Egypt globally. In 2020, she became the first Arab woman to serve on the jury of Jazzahead in Bremen, Germany, and continues to participate as a jury member for local and international music competitions. Neveen’s achievements have been widely recognized. She was selected by the Recording Academy’s American Music Mentorship Program in the United States, and in 2022, the German Embassy in Cairo named her among the most active women in Egypt’s cultural scene, inviting her to a special visitor program in Germany. Earlier in her career, she participated in the European Voluntary Service in Turkey, where she helped organize street festivals and the Art Mails Mural Project. She holds a Diploma in Artistic Criticism and a Master’s degree in Film Music from the Academy of Arts in Cairo, in addition to a certification in Strategic Planning from the American Chamber of Commerce.
